Casual Girly Winter Look and Where I’ve Been

Hello friends! Where do I even begin…well, first let me say that I hope you all had a wonderful, peaceful and safe holiday. I never intended to be gone for so long and returning after a long absence is always difficult for me.

Now with that out of the way, let me explain a little bit. We had some construction work done at the house towards the end of September. The constant banging made it next to impossible to record IG stories. And since that usually keeps me going on the daily I decided to pause for the duration of the work. A few other things came up around the same time (which I will share with you shortly) and next thing I knew fall had passed. I typically capture this beautiful transition on my blog and having missed it I felt like a failure. And so I withdrew even more. Next thing I knew the holidays were upon us and it made things even worse.

I lost any and all inspiration to shoot new content and of course quarantine life hasn’t been ideal for styling or shooting outfits either. I went through a track pant and leggings rut and it was only in the last few days (because of Christmas tbh) that I got out of it. I’ve actually only worn dresses this past week and it’s been an instant mood lifter.

Coat similar. Sweater dress similar. Hat here. Sneakers here.

Sweater dresses are always in my fall and winter rotation. For example this casual girly winter look. Very easy to put together and perfect for a mild winter day. However for a colder day just pair this same look with leggings and boots. The wool hat is a trendy (and warm) substitute for a toque. As well, you may want to add a scarf. And like I mentioned before, maybe just swap out the sneakers for a pair of warm boots and you have yourself a cute girly winter look.
